Anyone else have a good day? I'll compile a list of my buys as soon as I take the pictures.....maybe later today or tomorrow! I did better than expected was home by 9 am. Went to a church sale, 2 unplanned garage sales along the way and the annual Women's Moose Lodge sale. Wheeee!
I had planned for 3 sales yesterday with the first one being a church sale over the border in Michigan about 5 miles away. It was to open at 8 am. I got there at 10 til. I think I was the 2nd one there. The first thing I bought was a box full of viewmaster reels with a broken viewer for $1.00, then it was 3 books for 50¢ each. (pictures below)
Next I was to head to the annual women's moose lodge sale but they don't topen til 9, so I stopped at a garage sale I saw on the way and I bought a turkey blow mold by Don Featherstone. I told myself no more blow molds but it's not a big & bulky one but flat one so should not be hard to ship. I ignored the nativity bm set cuz last time I had a rought time getting rid of them and finally sold them through craig's list. Oh, the turkey was $2. and I also bought a rug for $5.
Heading to the Moose sale, I got there early and walked right in. No one stopped me and I felt like I snuck in. The first thing I grabbed was a greenish Texasware bowl for 50¢, then a Richard Simmons Food Mover system for $1.00. (sadly they don't sell as high as the Deal-a-Meal system but still worth the investment.) What else did I find? Oh yeah, another box of viewmaster reels and a working viewer for only 10¢!!! And the last minute find was a set of 4 Christmas theme Kliban cat placemats for 50¢.
I was home by 9:05 am. I took my son to pick up his truck at the body repair shop then headed over to the Antique Mall since they advertised they were having a yard sale. Got there and spotted exactly what I was hoping to find, a chest of drawers. I bought it for $100. It's not perfect, as you can see on the finish, and it has 2 missing handles and I need to have a few drawer stops inserted but I think it was well-worth my money. Oh, and it has the fancy older dovetail work on it. (picture included below)

Good finds Chris! Especially like the old viewmasters. How much are those going for? I remember having those as a child. I didn't get much last weekend, but scored a deal on a car battery powered air inflater, good for car camping (blowing up air mattress, rafts and such) new in package for $10. It should come in handy for this summer. We are on vacation now, just drove from Santa Cruz, CA up to Portland, OR and back down to Fresno CA and then back to Santa Cruz on Sunday, over 1400 miles of driving!
This is my first time selling viewmaster reels and at that batgain price, I coudln't resist buying them. I'm hoping for the best. I got a bid right away but it has 2 days to go. I'm hoping the LOT goes much higher.

Mike, do you ever sell on ebay? If so, what's your I.D.?
No pictures but I did find a bed and a chair for my spare bedroom today that goes along with the chest of drawers I bought last week. Yippee! $50 plus $35..........
Oh, and I'm baby shopping now too, Mike, since finding out my son's gf is pregnant by 7 weeks and due Dec. 22. I have already begun to pick up a few items of baby clothing here and there......ya know, non-gender specific onesies, sleepers and socks. It will be more fun when we find out the gender!
When is yours due, Mike?
