My church offers the organization of estate/garage sales as a community service and as a fundraiser for our feeding program, the Community Table.  We'd like to hear if there are any other charity efforts out there and any tips on organizing a successful sale.
Hi Gmastree, welcome to the forum! Its great to hear about your charity fundraiser. How long have you been holding it? Is there any one thing you want to try to do better?
We just held our second sale this weekend.  And our Community Table program started September 6, 2006.  The only constructive criticism that I've heard so far is that we were a bit light on volunteers for the opening shift.  There apparently was a crush of people who arrived all at once.  There weren't enough helpers to offer a box to the heavily burdened shopper and to answer questions.
We've got a pretty good system in place so there really isn't anything we want to do better at this point.
