I stopped at a porch and yard sale. I saw a cast iron Scottie dog doorstop. I thought the tag said $5. I picked it up and carried to over to the person conducting the sale  and pointing to the doorstop, I said. "Would you take $3 for this?" Her jaw dropped and she said "No way! I paid over $100 for that." So I handed her a $5 bill. She said, "What's that for?" I replied, "The doorstop." She responded, "The price on that is 55 dollars!" I put it back saying "And I thought $5 was a high price for a lawn sale!"

Just wondering if a reproduction Scottie doorstop would be worth that much.
Hard to say without seeing a picture of the item. $55 is a little high for something that is at a garage sale. If it cost $100, Id maybe expect to see it at a garage sale for something around $30, haggled down to around $20. $5 would be really good deal.
