Hi. I'm a garage sale junkie. My wife turned me on to it before we were married and now my idea of a Saturday is getting up at 6 am and being out for six hours.

When I started out I was looking mostly for Lionel and other collectible trains. I still look for them but I buy a lot of movies, CDs, and video games now. And stuff for around the house of course.

For Christmas I gave my sister a Dell computer I got about a year ago at a sale. I fixed it up better than new, and she's happy, and I saved a ton of money.

I'm looking forward to learning more from the other people here.
Hi Dave!

Welcome to the forum. We love to hear everyones tips and tricks. One way we make extra money is by re-selling stuff we find at garage sales on E-bay. Check out our "winners and losers" video in our video archives.

One tip: If you are into looking for computers...look for really old working condition 1984 Mac computers. We just bought a Mac 512K (one of the first ever computers to use a mouse) at a antique show for $20 which was priced on the high side of a normal garage sale...they are worth between $200-$500 on Ebay and you usually pick them up for NOTHING at garage sales!
Hi Dave,
Nice to have you here! Where are you located? (I need to know if I have yard sale competition here on the south side of Chicago)! LOL Tongue
Not to worry, I'm in St. Louis, a good four hours away...

The Mac 512 is worth something?? I knew the original 128K Mac was worth something but I didn't know the 512 was worth bothering with. They sold a lot more 512s than 128s.

I do keep an eye out for the vintage Apples that I know have value (off the top of my head, the Mac 128 and the Apple IIc+, not to be confused with the older and more common Apple II+ or IIc), but I was a Commodore fan back in the 1980s so I get a lot more excited when I see that stuff.
