Found your site thru a search on The Route 127 event each summer.  I am planning to visit in TN with a friend that lives in Nashville.  Does anyone have any info they could share about how to navigate, how bad the traffic is, etc?

I am happy to be a member of this new site and look forward to meeting others on line that are "junkers".

I am from New Jersey and if anyone should visit here, you should make it a point to spend a weekend here, since I have never been to better garage sales anywhere in the county (and I have friends all over the US so I have "saled" everywhere).  During the summer here many towns have a Town-wide sale.  You can pick up a map at a designated location and hit many more than usual since they are clustered.  I have been to these sales in Ramsey, Verona and Pompton Lakes, NJ.  I have found them through the newspaper on line, THE BERGEN RECORD.

Thanks!
Hi Bernbarn, welcome to the forum! We have never been to the HWY 127 sale yet but are planning to do so this year for the first time. So we have no idea what to expect other than lots of sales Smile

Thanks for the tip on new jersey garage sales. We'll have to remember to check them out next time we are out that way.

Hi, my first time here so don't know if I am posting this correctly. But anyways, this will be our 4th year straight to the Hwy 127 sale. We absolutely love it. Be warned though it gets very, very hot. Have plenty of  hydration on hand and also make sure you make your motel reservations well in advance. Depending on the area there are not enough accomadations to go around. We have seen many a tired and hot bargin hunter at the end of the day trying to find a place to roost. Traffic isn't so bad on the first two days but can get hairy on Sat and Sun. We have done the sale with and without a small utility type trailer with no problems.
Plan your time well, you can't possibly cover even half of the sale in my opinion and do it right. So map out your trip, find spaced accomadations,[color=purple][size=medium] bring a big cooler, lots of storage space and plenty of cash. Enjoy.  Dolly
Oh I dream of doing that sale Dolly.

Hi - I'm Evelyn.

Alas, I am the home teaching, home working mom of 3 - 2 of which are toddlers just past potty training.  (But still with accidents).

Sounds like fun though.
