I went to 3 estate sales and a few garage sales and it was really the first time this year I've been out garage saling. I picked up some interesting records (a Boston picture disc, Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane and a few other interesting ones), some collectible wheaties cereal boxes, a leather ladies handbag and some large womens shoes that I decided to buy after reading the "fetish" thread talking about cross dressers liking them.

I got overly excited about the records and paid too much for them. The guy selling them was wise to their prices and would not sell them by the box or part with them for the usual $1.00/each. I still thought I could turn a profit on these though so I bought them anyway.

I also found out that its difficult to sell the collectible Wheaties boxes on ebay, there is just too much supply and not enough demand and you basically have to find the really rare old ones for them to even be worth much. I'll probably be able to make my money back, but in all, my spidey sense wasn't very sharp this weekend.

I'm putting together a video about my purchases this weekend. Will post it soon.

Mike
YAH! A new video!!!!

Sorry 'bout your "spidey" sense being off...mine seems to be sharpest when I have the least amount of cash to spend.   LOL.

I found a Jan Van Ha^&*%& (forget the last name) puzzle at GW last week.  Went home and looked it up and found I coulda sold it for about 15-20 (2 bucks at GW)  But I had already found a boatload at GW and didn't wanna risk it.  Sigh.
I too have my go to people to call from GW or estate sales.  We use code phrases.

"Hey, Dave, do you think Aunt Ellen would like _____________"

And then we give details once Dave has gotten to ebay to look up completed auctions.
Your last post inspired me to do a video on techniques that people use to find out what items are worth before they buy. I posted a new video in the blog section. Hope you like it!

So cool Mike - but you need to post that in a separate thread so no one will miss it.

Looks good.
I called my SIL just the other day when shopping with a friend at Salvation Army - she found a I Dream of Jeanie game for $12 - SIL wasn't home but my brother looked it up for us.

Amy bought it - and its up to $37 the last time I looked.
Interesting. Is it this game?
Yep  - is that your own game?
My friends game is up to $40 - and she misspelled the title!

She got lucky.
Not mine, I was just curious and looked around online for it and found this picture. Plus it was an excuse to post an attachment Smile

Those vintage Milton Bradley games that you don't see everyday should all be on our lookout list!
