I suggest everyone take an hour or two this week to do completed auction searches on puzzles.

My friend Amy has been researching them and has come up with some interesting finds.

Tray puzzles.  Some old ones do well - others do well in 'lots' - I find these things for .25 many times at GS.

Jigsaw puzzles.  Round  vintage boxes from Springbox do excellent.  (Octagon shaped too) - but remember, it has to be the box shaped that way not just the finished puzzle. Some artists do awesome.  Others - again do well in 'lots'.

Mental puzzles.  Unique well made ones do well.
Yeah, I know about puzzles, especially Springbok, but selling them as a "complete" puzzle prevents me from selling them as I do not want to put a 500 or 1,000 pc. puzzle together every time I find one, just to know if all the pieces are there.
I've counted them before.

I've put them together before (taking a picture of the completed puzzle helps boost the price).

BUT Puzz 3-D's - I've got 3 of them - I cannot put them together for the life of me...and counting the pieces is my only option.
YEs, I can understand putting them together helps boost the price. That is why I don't buy them. Too time consuming.
To each his own.  To me, a puzzle is a nice way to spend the evening while watching tv.

And I never buy puzzles to own...never did puzzles as an adult until ebay.

(Which by the way, has everyone been watching ebays numbers plummet?)
My grandmother got me into puzzles but I guess having cats at home has detered keeping one on-going, if ya know what I mean? Those 2 do not mix well! LOL
I agree that some puzzles really do well-- especially the odd shaped ones....
I have seen this myself on ebay-- I have never found any myself worth buying but there is potential in them!! The dud puzzle pieces make great crafts pieces  for kids...gluing them together and painting them to make pins ( like one for Valentine's Day) photo frames etc....family fun.com  has cool  ideas for old puzzle pieces in case one is interested....
Yes, when I was working in day care, we took puzzle pieces and made Christmas wreath ornaments. They were really cute!
