I am excited as I anticipate my first church sale of the year tomorrow!!! I hope it will be worth my anticipation. I predict that I will arrive early and when I get there, many other recognizable regulars will be there as well hoping to be the first ones in and scavange the place. I was hoping to have a heads up on the sale as I passed the sign last week. This is a church that has not had one in the past, so it's new to the list of regular church sales in our city. But no....they had to place an ad in the newspaper this week so now EVERYONE will be there!!! How dare they! I will arrive with my extra large stripey bag that holds an enormous amount of merchandise, if need be, without me having to juggle holding items as I continue to shop. Either that, or I take a old lady portable grocery cart and fill it up! Fun, fun....I can't wait til tomorrow morning! I will come back and give you a full report, weather good or bad.
I am more excited now becasue our paper advertised a grand-daddy of a sale tomorrow at a christian school that has them every year for the senior's spring trip! I can't wait. It is HUIGE every year! I hope to find a load of goodies!
There is one 'garage sale' listed in our area for tomorrow. Probably an indoor thing as we are under a winter storm advisory.
But I too cannot wait. And it doesn't even sound good - not like the stuff I usually buy - but I just can't wait to get out there again.
Well, it was a brisk morning....very frigid. The temp was 17 degrees here in NW Indiana as I backed out of the garage at 7:15 am. I placed something in the mailbox and noticed frost. I headed to get coffee at the local mini-mart then pick up a friend 2 minutes from there. We headed to the church sale first and got there 25 minutes early. We waited in the warm car about 15 minutes then got out to wait by the door since many cars were pulling in. We were first at the door. About 6 minutes later, we noticed the church had a 2nd entrance on the other side and more people waiting outside that door. A minute or 2 after 8 am, they opened the OTHER door then ours'. (grumble, grumble) I found 3 petticoat slips in ivory, red and purple for $1.00 each. Then I found 4 cook books and 2 baby bibs for 10¢ each and that's it. Oh, I almost forgot, and I bought a Pigmania game for 50¢.
Next sale was the christian school which has them eevery year but this year was not nearly as big. They opened at 9 am but we got there early and they were already open. I only bought a new Nicole Miller cumberbun & bow tie set plus 3 costume patterns. I spent 75¢.
We decided to look for a moving sale I read about this mormning and upon arriving found someone with a collection of a couple hundred elephants. I saw one pink spaghetti elephant with 2 babies but wasn't sure if $3. was a good price or not so I set it down. I ended up buying a 1966 Batman movie, a Case Logic, 21 baby bib and a stratedgy guide for Tomb Raider ll. I spend $3.00. While at that sale we heard another person talking about another moving sale so we found that one and I bought a pair of Nike tennis shoes for $1.00.
We were in the spending mood so we treked to a GW we rarely go to in a neighboring town. There I bought a Vera Bradley purse new with tags for $15. plus another Case Logic, a blue dolphin mold-a-rama and an ash tray that said "50th on the Lake - Chicago" I need to research that one.
Sorry the photos aren't that great but you get the pipcture! LOL

Okay - I know the petticoats will do well - the other stuff I can see...but baby bibs? They do well?
The baby bibs are not for resale! LOL
I bought them for a single mom expecting in 3 months.
I have been collecting lots of baby clothes for her.
Shoot - I was hoping you knew something I didn't.
I do know baby "loveys" or security blankets can go super high. I just saw one go for 150.xx - sure wish it were mine.
Nice finds! We didn't have too many sales here this weekend since we were hit with a huge storm. I wonder if the 1966 batman movie still plays well? I heard that VHS tapes can degrade to the point of becoming really choppy after only 10 years. I've been meaning to get my old home videos converted to DVD for that reason. A big part of it depends on how they've been stored (needs to be kept somewhere very dry).
I've bought some loveys at garage sales for .25 or .50 and MOST have sold for about 8 bucks. Its worth trying in my opinion. When it could go higher. The ones that haven't sold - I'll try again.
It SEEMS to me that the ones with lots of nice satin go higher - but not always.
