My friend bought a box of perfume bottles - mostly old/empty at an estate sale a couple weeks back for $10.

She listed them - not knowing what she had.

Her bottles sold for $360. as a lot - but we figured out that she could have gotten that for just the one bottle.  Something called a FACTICE bottle was in the lot.  She didn't have that as a keyword or her auction may have gone higher.

Factice is a french word for an artificial dummy looking like the real thing.

But do a search on the word factice and you will see some HIGH prices.

Amazing sale! I have sold lots of miniature perfumes in the past but they never went THAT HIGH!!!! Congrats to your friend!!!

Like I said it wasn't her minitures that made it so high - it was the factice bottle.  The oversized counter display bottle.

When its layed out like that very nicely and cleaned up, it makes you think what was the seller thinking when they sold it for $10, but its funny how things become next to worthless when they are placed in an old cardboard box and covered with some dust. Nice salvage!
