Well, spring is officially here although it is currently snowing here in NW Indiana. Sad We have been having a few sales here and there for the past month and I've been out to a few.  This weekend there are about 6 in the newspaper along with an estate sale.

So how goes it in your area?
I know I am talking to myself here but I went saling Saturday morning. It was a chlly 28 degrees when I started off here in NW Indiana. By noon, it had warmed up to 38. My friend and I attended approx. 6 sales and we were amazed at the gararge sales that operated like Estate Sales with their high prices. I only spent $5.00 all day but at least I wasn't empty handed.

Hoping for MORE next weekend!!
I too went out - and found too that the sale (1 and only) had prices that no one would even pay off ebay for their not pristine items.  Drives me nuts.  Why do people drag everything they own out on the lawn for everyone to come and look at only to drag it back in at the end of the day?
At our first sale they had some Fenton shebet cups and 1 plate. I wasn't sure the worth of the set as Fenton can be fickle depending on the item and color. So the tag says $24. and my friend asks if they will come down. They said well, we had a dealer come in and help us price (that explains alot!) and she told them that 2 cups be themsleves sells on ebay for $18. so $24. IS a fair price. My friend says she'll pay $10. and they said $20. she said no, $10. and they said no again. I said if those pieces are worth that much, why didn;t the dealer buy them and sell them on ebay? (LOL) As we left with our meager purchase, the one guy chases us to my van and says he'll sell the set for $12. HAHAHAHA! I said I'll think about it.

So I went home to check on ebay and we found a set of 4 04 6 that sold for $15.00 and that's it. So I decided it wasn't a good deal afterall.
There are lots of sales out here in CA, but the quality of stuff is lacking. I don't know if Im just not on my game or if its a run of bad luck. Mostly well used (and non antique) kids toys about 5 years old, books and VHS tapes, nothing I know to be worthwhile. I'm hoping next weekend will be better or I get lucky.

Mike
Good luck with that. I am running low on ebay inventory but haven't found much my past 2 weekends out either.
I just purchased a small amount of inventory this past wekeend and listed some on ebay and the duds I am taking to thr resale shop. Even that helps me. Shops normally can still either get my money back that I paid or make me a profit. When I had a consignment, people were always amazed that I could sell the stuff that was leftover from garage sales. It's all in presentation and marketing.
