For those who don't like the 460cc heads, the TaylorMade R7 425 driver is for you. As it name suggests, the 425cc head has a more compact look to it at address and this gives a good sound and feel at impact. The weights in the back of the head are movable, but are closer together and lower down than in the R5 Dual TP, TaylorMade's other driver with 2 moveable weights. Playing around with the weights does give the desired flight, but the head seemed a little heavier than other drivers in the market, which we think is a general TaylorMade thing. The design of the head and sole is excellent and the sole in particular gives it a very aggessive look. For us the standard shaft was a bit disappointing, so the TP version with it's better quality shaft is the one to go for if your budget can stretch that far. Otherwise this is a very competent driver and worth a test.
